Design Envelope and Scalable Development

A patented concept should not be assumed to scale simply by changing dimensions. Development has to remain inside the engineering environment of the intended tractor and application.

Small tractor envelope

Available hydraulic flow and pressure, remote services, drawbar/interface arrangement, implement mass, cylinder sizing and control sequence can constrain a small tractor-towed implementation.

Changing scale can change the machine

A larger or materially different application can alter structural loads, hydraulic architecture, controls, towing requirements, transport envelope and operator requirements. Frank’s Final Grade is the development site for examining those changes.

Standards and evidence

Applicable ISO or Australian standards should be identified by number and scope. Conformity should be claimed only where the actual design, component or engineering record supports it.

Scalability is an engineering question

Changing size can alter structural loads, hydraulic demand, tractor interface, stability, transport and operator requirements. Patent scope, standards scope and practical implement design are separate questions and should be documented separately.
