Problem Diagnosis
Incorrect Crossfall
Crossfall controls the change in level across a road, path or other surface. A correct centreline does not prove that the edges drain correctly.

Plan the surface handover
BeforeMeasure the cross-section at the affected location.
Work stageIdentify the designed crown or one-way slope and correct the appropriate side without disturbing layer thickness.
AfterCheck the corrected section and the neighbouring transition sections.
What to verify
Verify both edges and any gutter or drain connection.
Diagnosis should distinguish the visible symptom from its cause. Record whether the fault appeared after traffic, a water event, settlement or earlier earthworks. That history helps decide whether the response is a local surface correction, a drainage intervention or a more substantial investigation.
Scope and limits
Do not infer a road crossfall specification from a generic illustration.
