Surface Planning

The Surface Is the Handover

The surface is the handover between operations. An excavator may finish its excavation, but the roller still needs suitable material, lift thickness and moisture. A scraper may finish shaping, but the irrigation operator still needs a connected fall to a usable outlet. Define acceptance at each transition instead of allowing the next machine to inherit an unresolved problem.

Plan the surface handover

BeforeName the operation that receives the surface and agree its requirements.
Work stageCheck geometry, material, moisture, access and evidence together. Record whether the current surface is a formation, subgrade, base layer or growing medium.
AfterRelease the area to the next operation only after outstanding defects are identified.

What to verify

Use independent level checks and project-specific material tests where required.

Confirm the proposed configuration, worksite conditions and intended use before deployment. Describe the function required and assess it with the complete tractor and implement combination. Concept illustrations are not confirmation of available equipment or approved loading.

Scope and limits

Visual smoothness alone does not prove compaction, bearing capacity or hydraulic performance.
