Plan the surface handover

BeforeInspect the surrounding layer and water entry route.
Work stageRemove or repair failed material as instructed, then place suitable replacement material and restore the profile.
AfterCompact the repair and inspect the transition to the existing surface.

What to verify

Check that water is not trapped at the repair edge.

Diagnosis should distinguish the visible symptom from its cause. Record whether the fault appeared after traffic, a water event, settlement or earlier earthworks. That history helps decide whether the response is a local surface correction, a drainage intervention or a more substantial investigation.

Scope and limits

Simply pushing loose soil into a road pothole is not a durable pavement repair.
