Construction & Infrastructure Development

Develop configurations around the construction operation the scraper is intended to support.

Control for the next operation

Fine grading can be investigated where it may support compaction, drainage, another layer, surfacing or a finished product.

Specification-led

Engineering specifications, material behaviour, tolerances, safety and site logistics should drive development decisions.

Construction development by work stage

A new configuration should be defined by where it sits in the construction sequence: after bulk earthworks, before compaction or surfacing, during drainage formation, or in rehabilitation.

Subgrade & pads

Level, drainage, material and compaction interfaces.

Road & surfacing preparation

Crossfall, shoulders, transitions and pre-surfacing requirements.

Rehabilitation

Restricted access, existing infrastructure and local material redistribution.

Developing for the construction sequence

Fine levelling should be considered in relation to the construction operation that follows. Potential stages include bulk-earthworks cleanup, subgrade shaping, drainage formation, compaction preparation, base preparation, shed and pad drainage, pre-surfacing or pre-hot-mix grading, road/access work and rehabilitation.

The development question is therefore not simply “can it grade?” but “what machine configuration, width, mass, material choice, controls and towing arrangement best support the required finished stage without unnecessarily duplicating larger equipment?”
