Standards & Responsibilities

Operator Preparation and Site Responsibilities

Operator preparation should match the supplied machine, tractor combination and worksite. General familiarity with a tractor is not proof that an operator understands scraper loading, release or transport arrangements.

Plan the surface handover

BeforeObtain machine instructions and the employer's applicable training requirements.
Work stageBrief the operating sequence, site hazards, exclusion areas, reference checks and stop conditions before the job.
AfterKeep operating and maintenance arrangements consistent with the supplied configuration.

What to verify

Confirm that the operator can explain the controls and limits used on the job.

A standard reference, a patent, a design assessment and a certificate are different records. Any compliance statement should identify the actual machine, applicable scope and supporting evidence. This site describes relevant topics without presenting an unverified certificate.

Scope and limits

Training and workplace duties depend on the jurisdiction and task; this is not legal certification.
