Project Stages
Prepare for the Next Operation
Preparing for the next operation means identifying what the receiving team needs to start without rework. The handover may need access, layer condition, levels and records.

Plan the surface handover
BeforeAsk the next operator or contractor for the required surface condition.
Work stageResolve defects and coordinate material, geometry and site access before releasing the work zone.
AfterHand over the checked area with outstanding items stated.
What to verify
Verify the agreed interface rather than only the grading team's own completion point.
Each project stage has a receiving operation and an acceptance question. Record what is complete, what remains and which reference the next team should use. Correct quantities before refining geometry, and do not cover an unaccepted layer simply to keep the sequence moving.
Scope and limits
Do not transfer unresolved defects silently to the next trade.
Continue the job brief
Include the location, existing condition, intended surface, material, available tractor and proposed dates.
