Project Stages
Calculate Cut and Fill
Cut-and-fill calculation measures the difference between two surfaces over an agreed extent. The result depends on survey representation, design reference and the volume state used.

Plan the surface handover
BeforeConfirm compatible survey and design models.
Work stageCalculate geometric quantities, then separate unusable material and any independently justified volume-change allowances.
AfterUpdate quantities as field conditions become known.
What to verify
Check a sample area manually and record the calculation assumptions.
Each project stage has a receiving operation and an acceptance question. Record what is complete, what remains and which reference the next team should use. Correct quantities before refining geometry, and do not cover an unaccepted layer simply to keep the sequence moving.
Scope and limits
Do not apply an invented universal bulking or compaction factor.
Continue the job brief
Include the location, existing condition, intended surface, material, available tractor and proposed dates.
