Gravel Distribution

Gravel distribution needs an accepted supporting surface and an appropriate aggregate specification. Controlled placement reduces large thickness differences between delivered piles.

Plan the surface handover

BeforeConfirm material type and planned layer depth.
Work stageSpread in a sequence that preserves the required profile and avoids unwanted segregation.
AfterCompact and finish for the intended traffic use.

What to verify

Inspect edges, local thin areas and drainage transitions.

Material roles matter as much as surface levels. Growing medium, structural fill and pavement aggregate should not be treated as interchangeable simply because all can be moved by a scraper. The preparation and acceptance method must follow the intended layer.

Scope and limits

Unspecified gravel is not automatically suitable for every road or pad.
